"India will have an opportunity to have access to cheap low-cost electrical power and an opportunity for the people to have economic development beyond the capacities at this point. The Indian Government is working their side." said US State department spokesman, Gonzalo R Gallegos.
" What choice'd India 've but to counter if neighbours China and Pakistan continued their nuclear tests." a reporter said.
" Well, I think you should probably ask Indian Government leaders about the issue; Indian Parliament. I will leave them to comment on that." said Gallegos on Tuesday.
A regular spokesman of US state department, Sean McCormack said," As a sovereign nation India has the right to conduct or not conduct a test but Washington does not encourage any states to test atomic weapons."
To some reporters he said that a test by New Delhi would lead to scrapping the deal but this news was not available in print.
